PAT Testing Courses from PASS LtdThis course covers all theoretical aspects of PAT testing including, regulations and legislation, the principles of electricity and Health and Safety. It also covers practical PAT testing using our specially designed ‘real life’ training bays. This allows you to lean effectively by experiencing PAT testing in a practical way, enabling a better learning environment with excellent support and guidance from experienced tutors.

This course includes the City and Guilds 2377 20 In-Service and Testing of Electrical Equipment qualification meaning that you will be qualified to PAT test with a recognised institute.

Day One

The First day of the course covers the syllabus of the 2377 20 In-Service Testing of Electrical Equipment qualification and covers both theory and practical elements including;

  • Hazards of Electricity,
  • Classification of Appliances,
  • Dangers,
  • Legal Requirements,
  • IEE Codes of Practice,
  • Recording Results,
  • Using a PAT Tester.

Once this element of the course has been completed and the one hour, PC based, 30 question examination has been passed, candidates will be able to undertake PAT testing and keep records allowing them to satisfy the ‘Electricity at Work Regulations 1989’.

Day Two

The start of your second day will begin with Health and Safety, working with Electricity then moves on to look at how to choose a PAT tester. You will be able to carry out a wide range of ‘real-life’ testing in the centre’s specially designed office and kitchen testing bays.

After completing a range of PAT testing you will then train in how to use PAT testing software, how to manage your PAT testing results and the printing of invoices for customers. All of which is a vital part of any PAT testing business as customers will require a PAT report.  

Day Three

The final day of your course will cover the practical elements of starting a business. It will focus on the essential knowledge of how to set up a business, tax issues, insurance, business banking, business funding options, set up costs, pricing and how to market your business including, who to target and how.

The cost of this course is £499.00 plus VAT per delegate.

This course lasts for Three days.

Regulations

Regulations are an important consideration and one that all businesses need to consider. The IEE Code of Practice specifies the frequency and scope of inspection and testing in different environments. All testers and businesses must comply with these codes.
